Javier Alfonso Cesar is global head for all User Experience Design activities at the Large Format and 3D Printing business units of HP. He joined HP in 2010 as Senior Industrial Designer and since than has held a variety of management roles within the Customer Experience Section until becoming Chief Design Manager.
While constantly seeking the right balance between strategic thinking and operational excellence he is focused on building an End-to-End approach that integrates Software and Hardware solutions, making sure that the group keeps the user at the centre of the organization’s’ product decisions. In this context, one of his key responsibilities is to ensure this well-structured group of individuals understands the importance of innovation and design within the context of a business.
Javier has a multicultural background and experience, having worked and studied in Spain, Sweden and Italy. After graduating in Argentina as an Industrial Designer, he moved to Italy to work for design consultancies such as Frog Design in Milan and corporate design offices like Whirlpool Europe. Some of his clients: Vodafone, Nokia, Sky TV, LifeScan, Steelcase, Telefónica, and Swissvoice.
He has applied and developed different methodologies for design and innovation in fields such as product, branding, service and experience design, helping companies in different sectors to adopt and maintain internal innovation processes.

Bringing design in a large corporate is a challenging journey that requires key skills such as empathy, business acumen, imagination and delivery capability. Javier Cesar (Customer Experience Design), Marc Morros (UX Design Lead) and Alessia Rullo will show three different angles, three different stories and perspectives to showcase how the design process is implemented at Hewlett-Packard Barcelona.
