Alvise Mattozzi is a sociologist and Assistant Professor of Social Studies of Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino, where he is also a member of TheSeUs – Interdepartmental Research Center on Technology, Society and Humanity. He has worked for more than ten years at the Faculty of Design of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, where he contributed to create the Master in Eco-Social Design, a two years graduate program aimed at fostering a dialogue between social sciences and design.

Alvise also teaches in the Master of Eco-Social Design at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. In his research, he investigates how to account for the social role of artefacts, bringing together knowledge from design studies and social sciences. He is one of the founding members of the Social Design Network.
