Saswati Saha Mitra is the Director of Research for Business Messaging and Monetization at WhatsApp. Her teams are responsible for enabling businesses to engage with customers in a sustainable, profitable and respectful way on the platform, making doing business on WhatsApp the next new norm in customer engagement.
Saswati’s passion for international product development results from conducting research in 35+ countries for some of the world’s most innovative companies – Uber, Google, Vodafone, Intel, Nokia and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She is one of the Inspiring Fifty Women in Tech award winners, celebrated by the London Tech Week in 2021. As the Executive Sponsor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at WhatsApp, Saswati builds DEI learnings at scale, fosters critical career conversations and inclusive peer to peer mentorship programs, that contribute to a workspace culture for all.
Outside of work, Saswati supports children of migrant backgrounds helping them integrate in society on behalf of the charity Family Action. She mentors startups across the UK, US and India as Advisor and Board Member. One of her proud engagements as a Board Member is with the Peut-Être Theatre, a small organisation encouraging children to participate in creative activities through audio and movement.
