Design Researcher, BBC
Lara Monday is a design researcher at the BBC. As part of the Design Research team, she works across both the Emerging Experiences space –looking at emerging technology applications – and the Systems and Service design space – looking at improving internal processes and ways of working. She works alongside designers, engineers, R&D and employees to improve, innovate, run research and explore larger questions around ethics and accessibility.
She is especially interested in the emerging tech space, recently completing her master's in Cyberpsychology, looking at the impact of technology on user relationships, behaviour and interactions, contributing to her work alongside the emerging experiences team when looking at areas such as in-car, voice assistants and misinformation.
With a background in research, service design and industrial design, she is a strong believer in cross-disciplinary value. Building stronger relationships across teams, prompting key conversations and alignment towards shared goals. She is especially interested in complex challenges around orchestration-level problems and innovation around user needs prompted by emerging technology.
