Head of the UK Policy Design Community, UK Civil Service
Andrew Knight heads up the UK Policy Design Community, policy design teams in over 60 central and local government organisations in the UK sponsored by HM Government's Policy Profession. He has 20 years' experience in making services and policy and has worked extensively across the public sector with frontline professionals like teachers and at the heart of government with ministers.
He is a design specialist who used to lead the policy design lab at the UK Department of Education, bringing together teams in local and national government to design innovative new services that address place-based wellbeing problems, and prototyping training, tools and infrastructure for others to use in the future. He now specialises in helping people to collaborate in complex and uncertain environments by giving them innovative new ways of working. He is an educationalist schooled at UCL Institute of Education, and he is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
