Remko Vermeulen is Vice President of Product at Telefónica Alpha, Telefónica's disruptive innovation/moonshot factory. He is passionate about creating new companies, products and services integrating the best of scientific research, user insights, design and development to get the best products and services with cross disciplinary teams using lean startup, service design and design thinking. Services are brought to market under the brands of O2 in the UK, Movistar in Spain and Latin America and Vivo in Brasil.
Before Telefónica he collected more than 10 years of (UX) management experience with companies like Renault, Wallpaper, Financial times, Warner Brothers, British Council, Reliance India, Yukos Russia and Electrolux Italy. He has a Master in Design Innovation Management (Product design) from Delft University of Technology, studied psychology at the Royal University of Leiden and exhibition design at the National School of Design in Australia.
Remko is local founder of IxDA (Interaction design association), mentor at Elisava design school and (former) Healthbox London, Wayra, Startup Bootcamp and Fintech startup accelerators.
Besides work, Remko is passionate about sailing, kitesurfing and golden dwarfs.
