Per Önnemyr is country lead for Backelite in Sweden, one of Capgemini's service design agencies, and is responsible for building and growing the Swedish branch. One of his responsibilities include creating, together with his team, a strong culture and a great place to work at. Before becoming country lead, Per was head of studio for Backelite in Malmö where he took great pride in people leadership and always putting the human values first.
His strong passion for usability and the end-user has led him to become a certified expert in customer and user experience design. In the past 13 years, he combined experience design with a background in informatics, working for clients and improving their (digital) touchpoints. As a design lead he has been involved in a variety of projects in sectors such as finance, telecom, public, manufacturing and retail, which reflects his vast interest in learning new things and interacting with new people.

'There’s a lab for that'
For organisations to innovate and become design-driven, one of the strategies is to start an innovation or co-creation lab or an internal design centre. Look at companies like Autodesk, Pfizer, Tencent, Airbnb and many more. It has even become ‘a trend’ to buy an agency.
But is this (always) the right thing to do? What should be taken into account? What about people and culture? Is it true that a lab that is more separated from the core business is best for pursuing truly disruptive innovations? How to avoid having a ‘demo lab’ that is only there to showcase innovativeness? And most importantly, why is it important to get it right?
This interactive session is a mixture of facts and theory with best practices and lessons learned. Join this session, listen, learn and share your own experiences.
